Gov Idris presents N642.9bn 2026 budget to Kebbi Assembly

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has submitted a proposed budget of N642.9 billion for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly. He said the budget is designed to support growth, strengthen infrastructure, and improve service delivery across the state.

Governor Idris explained that the budget focuses on sectors such as education, agriculture, healthcare, and security. He noted that these areas are important for boosting development and improving the quality of life for residents.

The governor told lawmakers that the budget plan also includes funds for roads, water projects, empowerment programmes, and other capital projects. According to him, the goal is to accelerate development while ensuring accountability and effective use of public resources.

The Kebbi Assembly promised to review the proposal carefully and work with the executive to ensure a smooth approval process. The governor expressed confidence that the budget, once passed, will help the state meet its key targets in 2026.
