UBEC reviews PPP framework to boost basic education delivery

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has announced a review of its Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework to enhance the delivery of basic education across Nigeria. The move aims to strengthen collaboration between the government and private sector in providing quality education to children.

Officials said the review will focus on improving infrastructure, teaching resources, and learning outcomes in public schools. UBEC stressed that the PPP approach will help fill gaps in funding and expertise, ensuring more children have access to quality education.

The commission also highlighted the need for accountability and proper monitoring to ensure that partnerships with private organizations deliver tangible results. UBEC plans to engage stakeholders, including education experts and private investors, to refine the framework.

Experts welcomed the review, saying it could significantly boost education standards if implemented effectively. They urged the government to fast-track the process so that Nigerian children can benefit from better learning environments and resources.
