Bande hands over 24 rescued Maga schoolgirls to Kebbi First Lady

The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Titus Musa Bande, has officially handed over 24 rescued schoolgirls from Maga to the state’s First Lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris. The girls were freed after coordinated security operations that involved local vigilantes, police units, and community trackers. Their rescue has brought relief to families who had been waiting anxiously for good news.

During the handover event, the First Lady expressed gratitude to the security agencies for their efforts and assured the families that the girls would receive full medical care and emotional support. She also highlighted that the government is committed to improving school safety and preventing future attacks targeting schoolchildren.

Security officials noted that the rescue operation was carefully executed to ensure the safe return of all the children without causing further harm. They added that investigations are ongoing to track down the remaining suspects behind the abduction, as well as to uncover the networks responsible for recent kidnapping activities in the region.

Community leaders have praised the rescue, calling it a sign of progress in the fight against violent crimes affecting rural schools. They urged the government and security agencies to remain vigilant and intensify efforts to protect vulnerable communities while restoring confidence among parents and students.
