Pope Leo has expressed deep concern over the rising number of Christians reportedly killed in different parts of Nigeria. Speaking on the alleged genocide, he noted that the situation has become too alarming to ignore. According to him, the continuous attacks on Christian communities show that many innocent people have already lost their lives, and the world must pay attention.

The Pope stressed that no community should live in fear because of their faith. He explained that violence against believers has been recurring for years, and the pattern suggests a deliberate attempt to silence or intimidate them. He urged governments, church leaders, and humanitarian bodies to urgently step in and protect those at risk.

Pope Leo also appealed for truthful reporting of casualties, saying that downplaying the crisis only delays real solutions. He insisted that the lives lost should not be treated as mere numbers but as human beings whose families are suffering. He encouraged stronger local and international cooperation to stop further killings and bring justice to victims.
