A fresh wave of insecurity hit Kwara State as bandits struck another rural community, kidnapping four farmers during an early-morning raid. Residents said the attackers stormed the village with heavy weapons and scared people out of their homes before taking the victims. The incident has increased fear among villagers who depend on farming for survival.
According to locals, the bandits arrived on motorcycles and moved straight to farmlands where some men were working. The farmers were overpowered, tied up, and taken away into the nearby forest. Community members lamented that the attack happened despite several recent appeals for improved security patrols.
Families of the abducted farmers are said to be in shock, with many fearing that the kidnappers may soon contact them with ransom demands. Some villagers have already fled to nearby towns out of fear that the bandits may return. Community leaders described the situation as heartbreaking, noting that constant attacks have crippled farming activities in the area.
Residents are now calling on the Kwara State Government and security agencies to move quickly and rescue the victims. They also urged authorities to strengthen surveillance in rural communities to prevent future attacks. Many believe that if proactive steps are not taken, more communities may fall victim to similar raids.
