A political group has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of effectively destroying the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during its recent convention. The group claims Makinde’s actions have weakened the party, leading to disunity and a lack of direction among members.
According to the group, decisions taken at the convention have sidelined key stakeholders, causing internal friction that could affect the party’s performance in future elections. They described the event as a major blow to PDP’s cohesion.
Critics argue that Makinde’s influence has shifted the balance of power within the party, leaving some members feeling marginalized. The group warns that unless urgent reconciliation measures are taken, the PDP risks further decline.
Meanwhile, party supporters loyal to Makinde defend his role, claiming his leadership aims to modernize and strengthen the party, despite disagreements from certain factions.
