Justice must never be for sale – Tinubu tells judges

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reminded judicial officers across the country that justice must always remain fair, independent, and free from any form of corruption. Speaking at a legal event, he stressed that the courtroom must never become a place where influence, money, or power can determine outcomes. According to him, the integrity of the judiciary is central to the nation’s stability, and judges must uphold the highest ethical standards.

Tinubu also noted that Nigerians depend on the courts for truth and fairness, urging judges to resist pressure from politicians, wealthy individuals, or anyone trying to manipulate the justice system. He emphasized that the credibility of the judiciary rests on its ability to deliver judgments without fear or favour.

He assured judicial institutions of his administration’s support, including reforms aimed at strengthening the justice sector. Tinubu said the government will continue working closely with the judiciary to ensure quicker, transparent, and more reliable legal processes.

Many legal analysts have welcomed the president’s remarks, saying strong judicial integrity is essential for democracy, human rights, and public trust. They believe such consistent calls for accountability can help rebuild confidence in the justice system.
