A civil society group has issued a strong warning against the spread of misleading narratives surrounding the Frontier Exploration Fund. The group said recent commentaries circulating in the public space are causing unnecessary confusion about the purpose and management of the fund. According to them, the Frontier Exploration Fund was established to support the discovery of new oil and gas reserves, and any attempt to misrepresent its intentions could slow down national energy development efforts.

The group explained that misinformation is fueling distrust among citizens and stakeholders, adding that those making unfounded claims are either poorly informed or deliberately trying to distort facts. They advised policymakers and regulatory agencies to regularly communicate progress updates to keep the public accurately informed.

In their message, the group called on citizens to verify information before sharing it.
