They’re intoxicated in Ibadan party – Wike rejects expulsion from PDP

Nyesom Wike has dismissed talks of his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying those pushing the narrative are “intoxicated” by their activities at a political meeting in Ibadan. The former Rivers State governor insisted that no one in the party has the authority to remove him, stressing that he remains a strong and influential member of the PDP.

Wike argued that the calls for his expulsion are baseless and fueled by internal party struggles rather than genuine disciplinary concerns. According to him, certain individuals within the PDP are merely seeking relevance by mentioning his name in their political fights.

He further stated that the party should focus on rebuilding and strengthening its structures nationwide instead of being distracted by unnecessary controversies. Wike added that attempts to undermine him would fail, as he has contributed significantly to the growth and survival of the PDP.

Observers believe his statement highlights the deepening tensions within the party ahead of future elections, with internal disagreements threatening unity and stability.
