Police operatives in Bauchi State have arrested a group of suspected robbers who were tracked down after one of them forgot his mobile phone at the scene of the crime.
According to reports, the suspects allegedly broke into a residential apartment in the state capital, carting away valuables such as cash, phones, and other items. However, their plan failed when investigators found a mobile phone believed to belong to one of the robbers.
Police spokesperson SP Ahmed Wakil said detectives used the phone to trace and arrest the suspects within days. He added that the gang confessed to the crime during interrogation and would soon be charged in court.
Wakil commended residents for their cooperation and urged the public to continue sharing useful information with security agencies to help curb criminal activities in the state.
