Many Nigerians have called on the Federal Government to respond swiftly to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threat regarding alleged human rights violations and religious killings in Nigeria.

Trump had accused the Nigerian government of turning a blind eye to what he described as “Christian genocide”, warning that the U.S. might take drastic measures if the situation is not addressed. His comments have sparked widespread debate among Nigerians, with citizens, religious leaders, and civil society groups urging the government to act fast to protect the country’s image and unity.

Some Nigerians described Trump’s remarks as an attempt to interfere in Nigeria’s internal affairs, while others said his words should serve as a wake-up call for the government to tackle insecurity and religious violence.
