JAMB conducts CBT promotional exams for 6,000 Directorate candidates in FCT, 4 countries

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has successfully conducted Computer-Based Test (CBT) promotional examinations for over 6,000 candidates from the Directorate cadre of various government agencies. The exercise took place in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and four foreign countries, marking another milestone in the board’s effort to promote transparency and efficiency in examination processes.

According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the exam was part of the ongoing partnership between the board and government institutions seeking credible assessment for staff promotion. The test was held simultaneously across JAMB’s CBT centres in Nigeria and in countries where Nigerian missions required the service.

Benjamin stated that the exercise demonstrated JAMB’s commitment to using technology to support accountability in public service. He explained that the system eliminates exam malpractice, ensures instant result processing, and promotes fairness in recruitment and promotion.

He further revealed that JAMB will continue to collaborate with ministries, departments, and agencies to make CBT a standard for official examinations and assessments.

The initiative has been widely commended by candidates and stakeholders, who praised the board’s efficiency and the smooth coordination of the large-scale test across multiple locations.
