Wike vs military: I can’t be intimidated – FCT minister orders halt to alleged illegal development

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister has directed the immediate halt of an alleged illegal development in the nation’s capital, asserting that no intimidation will deter the enforcement of the law.

The minister emphasized that all development projects in the FCT must comply with approved regulations and guidelines, warning that anyone attempting to flout the law will face strict consequences, regardless of political influence or military involvement.

Responding to ongoing tensions, the FCT Minister stated firmly, “I cannot be intimidated by anyone. The rule of law must prevail, and all developments must adhere to established standards.”

Authorities have clarified that the directive aims to protect public interest, maintain urban planning integrity, and prevent unregulated construction that could endanger lives or infrastructure. The enforcement also underscores the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and fairness in the management of land and development projects in the capital.

The move comes amid rising concerns about illegal constructions and disputes involving powerful individuals. The FCT Minister assured residents that all lawful development projects would continue without hindrance, while illegal activities would face immediate suspension and possible legal action.
