INEC sets up state collation

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially set up the state collation centre for the ongoing governorship election. This move is part of the final stages of the electoral process, where votes from across the state will be brought together and counted before the final announcement of results. Election officials, observers, and security personnel are already on ground to monitor the process and ensure fairness.

INEC officials explained that the collation centre will receive results from all local government areas, which will then be verified and recorded. After this step, the final results will be announced by the state returning officer. The Commission restated its commitment to transparency and credibility, assuring citizens that every legally cast vote will count.

Security has been tightened around the collation venue to maintain order and protect the integrity of the process. Only authorized personnel, including observers, party agents, and accredited media, are allowed access. Officials stressed that this measure is necessary to prevent interference or disruption during result compilation.

Political parties and observers have welcomed the setup of the centre, urging the public to remain calm and patient while the counting continues. They also encouraged INEC to stick to its promise of transparency, reminding stakeholders that credible elections strengthen democracy.

As the process moves forward, Nigerians keep a close watch, waiting for the final results that will determine the next governor. INEC says it remains focused on delivering a free, fair, and peaceful election outcome.
