Authorities in Ogun State have launched an urgent search for a senior Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her teenage daughter, Sewa Lasisi, who were declared missing. The duo reportedly left their home in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, last Sunday and have not been seen or heard from since. The incident has raised concern within the security community and among residents of the state.
According to the Ogun State Police Command, all attempts by family members and colleagues to contact the officer and her daughter have failed, as their phones remain switched off. Oluwamayokun, who serves as a Superintendent Route Commander, is well-known for supervising major routes and directing enforcement operations for the FRSC in Abeokuta. Her sudden disappearance has sparked alarm among both the police and her colleagues.
The police confirmed that a missing person report was filed on Tuesday, November 5, at Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters. It was submitted by another FRSC officer working in Abeokuta, along with members of the missing officer’s family. The statement indicated that the mother and daughter left their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate on November 2 and never returned, prompting authorities to begin investigations immediately.
The Ogun State Police spokesperson stated that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full-scale investigation to uncover the circumstances behind the disappearance and ensure their safe return. Officers are currently gathering intelligence and interviewing possible witnesses to track the movements of the missing pair. Security agencies are treating the case with utmost seriousness given the officer’s sensitive role in law enforcement.
The police have appealed to the public for help and urged anyone with useful information to come forward. They assured residents that all information shared will be handled confidentially. Concerned communities and security agencies across the state continue to hope for the safe return of the officer and her daughter as investigations intensify.
