PDP convention: Only Appeal Court judgment can displace Justice Omotosho ruling – Party chieftain

A senior chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that only a judgment from the Court of Appeal can overturn the ruling delivered by Justice Omotosho regarding the party’s national convention. The party leader explained that once a competent court has given a decision, it stands until a higher court sets it aside.

He noted that internal party disagreements must follow the rule of law, stressing that no individual or group within the PDP has the power to override a court order. According to him, respecting the legal process is the only way to avoid further crisis in the party and protect its democratic structure.

The chieftain advised members to remain calm and allow legal processes to take their course instead of creating confusion or spreading misinformation. He added that the Appeal Court remains the appropriate place for anyone who is dissatisfied with Justice Omotosho’s ruling.

He described the judiciary as the ultimate guide for resolving political disputes, urging party loyalists to trust the legal system and work together for unity. He also reminded members that the PDP’s strength depends on discipline, respect for court decisions and peaceful internal processes.

The leader concluded by saying that once the Appeal Court gives a verdict, all party members must abide by it, adding that the PDP will continue to uphold constitutional principles and due process.
