Residents of Magboro and Makogi communities in Ogun State have expressed appreciation to the state government for beginning work on the long-awaited Magboro–Makogi road. For years, commuters and business owners in the area struggled with the terrible condition of the road, which caused constant traffic jams and frequent vehicle breakdowns. The ongoing rehabilitation has therefore brought hope and relief to many households and traders.
According to residents, the project marks a significant step toward improving the economic and social life of the area. They noted that once completed, the road will ease movement for thousands of commuters, increase property value, and attract more businesses to the fast-growing communities. Transporters also said the construction will help reduce travel time and operational costs.
Despite their excitement, the residents appealed to the Ogun State Government and contractors to speed up the work. They warned that delays, especially as the rainy season approaches, could affect progress and return the area to its previous challenges. Community members stressed that timely completion will ensure residents fully enjoy the benefits of the project without prolonged inconvenience.
Local leaders also urged the government to ensure quality work and continuous supervision so the road stands the test of time. They emphasized that poor maintenance or delays could reduce the impact of the project and affect public trust in government initiatives. The leaders encouraged open communication between the contractors, government agencies, and the community to address any concerns quickly.
Residents further expressed hope that this development signals more infrastructure upgrades in the area, including drainage, streetlights, and internal roads. They encouraged the state government to continue prioritizing projects that directly improve the lives of citizens and support economic growth. The community remains optimistic that the Magboro–Makogi road will soon be completed and become a model of successful urban development in the state.
