Two young men have been arrested in Kwaita village, located in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, after they allegedly attempted to break into a provision shop late Saturday night.
The suspects, identified as Isiyaku Musa and Yohana Danjuma, were reportedly caught around 11:12 p.m. while trying to force their way into a newly opened shop on Kwaku road. They were allegedly found with a sledgehammer and a metal cutter, believed to be tools meant to break the shop’s lock.
According to vigilante member Yahaya Shuaibu, the suspects were discovered during a routine patrol. He explained that one of the team members heard an unusual sound and directed his flashlight toward the shop, where the men were spotted trying to escape but were quickly captured.
The vigilante team later handed the suspects over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
