A Nigerian lawyer has cautioned that breaking diplomatic ties with the United States would have serious consequences for the country. The lawyer explained that despite disagreements or tensions, Nigeria relies on the US for important partnerships in areas like security, economy, technology, and international relations.
He noted that the US is one of Nigeria’s biggest global allies, offering foreign aid, military support, and investment opportunities that help strengthen the nation. According to him, ending diplomatic relations could weaken Nigeria’s global standing, affect trade, and make it harder to fight insecurity.
The legal expert advised that instead of considering such drastic measures, Nigerian leaders should focus on diplomacy, constructive dialogue, and strengthening international cooperation. He stressed that maintaining strong global relationships is vital for Nigeria’s progress and stability.
