Prince Andrew stripped of titles, Windsor residence

King Charles III has officially removed his brother Prince Andrew from his royal titles and ordered him to leave his long-time home at Windsor. This decision was announced on Thursday and marks another major punishment for the embattled prince as controversies linked to Jeffrey Epstein continue.

According to Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew will no longer be addressed as “Prince Andrew.” He will now go by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and the King has already begun the process to strip him of all royal titles. The palace also confirmed that Andrew must move out of his residence on the Windsor Castle grounds and relocate to a private home soon.

The move follows strong public anger after new sexual assault accusations surfaced. One of Jeffrey Epstein’s main accusers has once again named Andrew in fresh allegations, even though he continues to insist he is innocent. The palace stated that removing Andrew’s titles and privileges is necessary, despite his continued denial of the claims.

The decision comes shortly after the release of a memoir by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who repeated her allegations that she was trafficked to Andrew when she was a teenager. Andrew has long denied all accusations, but in 2022 he paid a large settlement to Giuffre to end her civil lawsuit in the United States, without admitting wrongdoing.

This latest development is another major blow to the Duke’s public life and connection to the Royal Family. With these actions, the palace emphasized that their priority remains supporting survivors of abuse, while also distancing the monarchy from ongoing scandals.
