Nigerian govt, German chamber of commerce deepens economic cooperation

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a deeper economic partnership with the German Chamber of Commerce, aimed at boosting trade, investment, and industrial growth. The agreement is expected to improve business cooperation between both countries and attract more German companies into Nigeria’s key sectors such as manufacturing, technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

Government officials explained that the partnership will help Nigeria benefit from Germany’s strong industrial experience and advanced technology. According to them, this collaboration will support Nigeria’s plans to grow local industries, enhance skills development, and create more job opportunities for its youth. They noted that the move is a strategic step toward building a stronger and more competitive economy.

The German Chamber of Commerce also expressed commitment to working closely with Nigerian businesses and government agencies. The group highlighted Nigeria’s huge economic potential, large market, and growing young workforce as major attractions for investors. It promised to promote business networking, trade missions, and capacity-building programs to support both countries’ business communities.

This cooperation forms part of ongoing efforts by President Tinubu’s administration to attract foreign direct investment and diversify the economy beyond oil. Officials said partnerships like this will improve Nigeria’s global business image and make it easier for foreign companies to operate in the country. They added that increased investment will help boost industrialization, exports, and economic stability.

Both parties emphasized mutual benefits and said the collaboration will open new doors for long-term trade relations. They encouraged private sector involvement and assured that necessary policies and support systems are being put in place to ensure smooth business operations and sustained economic growth.
