Juventus has reached an agreement with former Napoli and Italy national team coach Luciano Spalletti to take over as their new head coach. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that both sides have already agreed verbally, with the final contract only waiting for legal checks before being signed.
Spalletti is expected to sign a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2026. The agreement also includes an option to extend the contract for one more season if Juventus qualifies for the UEFA Champions League. This shows the club’s confidence and long-term plan, as they aim to rebuild and compete strongly again in Europe and Serie A.
This decision comes shortly after Juventus fired Igor Tudor following a disappointing run of eight games without a win. The Italian giants are hoping Spalletti’s experience and tactical brilliance will steady the team and return them to their winning ways.
Before this move, Spalletti served as the head coach of Italy’s national men’s football team, where he was later replaced by Gennaro Gattuso. He is well-respected in Italian football and has coached several top Serie A clubs including Napoli, AS Roma, Inter Milan, Udinese, Empoli, and Sampdoria.
Spalletti, now 66 years old, famously led Napoli to the Serie A title, earning huge praise for his attacking football style. Juventus fans are hopeful that he will bring similar success and restore the club’s dominance in Italian football.
