NSCDC arrests suspected vandals in Kano, recover items

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested four suspected vandals and burglars who allegedly specialized in breaking into houses and stealing valuables across different areas of the state. The suspects were apprehended in Dambatta, Fagge, and Tarauni Local Government Areas of Kano during coordinated operations by the corps.

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Abdullahi, he confirmed that the arrests followed credible intelligence reports and surveillance efforts. According to him, all the suspects have confessed to the crimes, and several stolen items were recovered during the operation.

Among the recovered exhibits were nine mobile phones, three standing fans, three solar panels, one bicycle, and a flat-screen television. Other items included two bundles of wire, two burglary windows, three MP3 speakers, one small solar panel, one power bank, and three motor vehicle tyres. The spokesman added that these items were linked to different burglary incidents reported in the affected areas.

Abdullahi explained that the operation was part of the NSCDC’s ongoing effort to curb vandalism and house burglary in Kano State. He stressed that the corps remains committed to protecting lives, property, and public infrastructure against criminal elements who threaten peace and security in the state.

He assured that thorough investigations had been carried out, and the suspects would soon be charged to court for prosecution. Abdullahi further warned that the NSCDC would continue to intensify its surveillance operations across all local government areas to deter similar crimes and maintain law and order.
