Imo police commissioner receives 182 new constables, tasks them on professionalism

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, Aboki Danjuma, has officially received 182 newly recruited constables posted to the state after completing their basic training. Addressing the recruits at the Command Headquarters in Owerri, CP Danjuma, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, congratulated the officers and encouraged them to perform their duties with discipline, professionalism, and integrity.

The Police Commissioner explained that the deployment of the new constables aligns with the Inspector-General’s directive on Community-Oriented Policing, aimed at enhancing security through close collaboration between the police and local communities. He urged the officers to be role models and uphold the core values of the Force — fairness, honesty, and service to humanity.

CP Danjuma warned the new officers against any form of indiscipline, corruption, or abuse of power, stressing that such behaviour would not be tolerated. He reminded them that their success as police officers depends on maintaining the trust of the people they serve.

The Commissioner assured residents of Imo State that the deployment would significantly boost security presence across the state, improve response to emergencies, and strengthen cooperation with other security agencies.

He added that the Command remains committed to maintaining peace, law, and order, while ensuring that citizens can go about their daily activities without fear or intimidation.
