APC scribe in police net over alleged killing of Yobe food vendor

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested Abdulmumini Garba, the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Karasuwa Local Government Area, over the alleged killing of a 45-year-old food vendor, Falmata Abubakar. The arrest came after a detailed investigation and intelligence operation led by the Bade Police Division.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, Garba, who also serves as the Secretary of the Vegetables Market in Gashua, was apprehended for his suspected involvement in the woman’s death. The victim’s body was reportedly found near Federal University, Gashua, sparking widespread concern in the community.

During interrogation, the 60-year-old suspect allegedly confessed to conveying the victim in his vehicle before an argument broke out over her request for financial assistance. The confrontation reportedly turned violent, resulting in her death. Garba later admitted to dumping the woman’s body in a nearby bush to conceal the incident.

The Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, commended the investigating officers for their swift and professional action, assuring the public that justice would be served. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling crimes and ensuring that offenders face the full weight of the law.
