The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Okey Nwosu Abdullahi, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of being behind the recent burning of the ADC office in Ekiti State. He claimed the attack was politically motivated and showed that the ruling party was afraid of ADC’s growing popularity in the state.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Abdullahi condemned the act, describing it as an assault on democracy and freedom of association. He alleged that the attackers were loyal to the APC, who see ADC as a major threat ahead of the next general elections.
He said, “The destruction of our party office is not just an attack on ADC but on the spirit of democracy. Those behind it are clearly jittery because they know the people are beginning to see through their failures.”
The ADC leader urged the police and other security agencies to investigate the incident thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice. He also appealed to party members across the country to remain calm and continue mobilizing for a stronger political movement.
Abdullahi reaffirmed that the ADC would not be intimidated by violence or blackmail, saying the party would continue to promote peace, unity, and credible leadership in Nigeria’s political space.
