The head coach of the Super Falcons, Justine Madugu, is set to sign a two-year contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), officially confirming him as the permanent coach of the reigning African champions.
Madugu, who took over the team in an interim capacity following the resignation of former coach Randy Waldrum last year, has impressed the NFF with his leadership and tactical abilities. Under his guidance, the Super Falcons clinched their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco in 2024, cementing their dominance on the continent.
According to reports, the new contract will give Madugu full authority to oversee the team’s preparations and competitions over the next two years. The NFF expressed confidence in his ability to continue developing the team and maintaining their winning culture.
The Super Falcons are currently preparing for their WAFCON 2026 qualifiers against Benin Republic, with Madugu announcing a 21-player squad for the crucial encounter. Expectations are high as Nigeria aims to defend its continental crown and qualify for future international tournaments.
Madugu’s confirmation marks a new chapter for the Super Falcons, as the team looks forward to consistency, growth, and continued success under his full-time leadership.
