Akinlalu killings: Osun Amotekun boss, Omoyele honours police invitation

The Commander of Amotekun Corps in Osun State, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (rtd.), has confirmed that the Field Commander, Mr. Amitolu Omoyele, honoured a police invitation over the recent Akinlalu killings in the state. The development comes amid an ongoing investigation into the violent incident that claimed several lives in Akinlalu community, Ife North Local Government Area.

According to reports, Omoyele appeared at the Osun State Police Command Headquarters on Thursday to provide clarifications and assist with inquiries regarding the tragic event. His appearance, sources say, was in line with Amotekun’s commitment to transparency and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

Brig. Gen. Adewinmbi assured the public that the Amotekun Corps would continue to work closely with the police to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible for the killings are brought to book. He further emphasized that no member of the security outfit is above the law, noting that the command has nothing to hide.

Residents of the community have expressed hope that the ongoing investigation will uncover the full details of the incident and prevent a recurrence of such violence in the area. Local leaders have also appealed for calm and urged all parties to allow the law to take its course.

The Osun State Police Command has since reiterated its resolve to conduct a fair and thorough investigation into the matter, ensuring that all those connected to the killings are held accountable in accordance with the law.
