Rev Sister Kinse never provided evidence she was sexually harassed – Veritas University

The management of Veritas University, Abuja, has stated that dismissed nun, Rev. Sr. Anastasia Kinse, failed to provide any evidence to back her claims of being sexually harassed by a priest at the institution. This clarification came from the university’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications, Ben Agande, during an interview on Prime Time aired on Arise Television.

Agande explained that after Rev. Sr. Kinse submitted her petition to the Vice-Chancellor on July 2, the school immediately constituted a four-member investigative panel headed by a senior lecturer from the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The committee, which included a female member, invited Kinse to present proof of her allegations. However, she reportedly failed to produce any evidence during the proceedings.

According to Agande, the university gave her a fair hearing and ensured due process throughout the investigation. He maintained that the former nun’s recent public statements were inconsistent with her earlier submission and were now motivated by her new role as a social media content creator.

He said, “She was invited and asked to provide the evidence she claimed to have, but she never did. Her recent narration appears to be content creation, not a factual account of events.”

Agande further emphasized that the university takes sexual harassment allegations seriously and has clear channels for reporting and investigating such matters. He insisted that in this case, no credible proof was presented by Rev. Sr. Kinse despite being given multiple opportunities.

The controversy stems from Kinse’s claim that she was sexually harassed by a priest but chose not to make her evidence public. Veritas University’s statement appears to contradict her position, asserting that she “never provided any evidence” when asked to do so by the inquiry panel.
