The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three suspected Lakurawa bandits during a recent security operation. The operation took place in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, following credible intelligence on the movement of armed criminals terrorizing the area. The police, supported by local vigilantes, engaged the suspects in a gun duel, leading to the death of three while others fled with injuries.
According to the command’s spokesperson, several weapons, including AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and motorcycles, were recovered from the scene. The police further stated that efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining members of the gang who escaped during the confrontation. The success of the operation, they said, demonstrates the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and safety across Kebbi State.
