Former Oyo State Governor, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has responded to remarks made by Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, who recently referred to him as a brother and friend. Ladoja said Obi was not wrong because they share mutual respect and a long-standing relationship beyond politics.
Oba Ladoja explained that their bond is built on values of honesty and commitment to the growth of Nigeria. He stressed that politics should not destroy genuine friendships, and that leaders must learn to separate personal respect from political rivalry.
The elder statesman further noted that what matters most is Nigeria’s progress. According to him, unity and cooperation among leaders are more important than constant conflicts. He urged politicians and citizens to work together regardless of differences for the nation’s peace and development.
