Former APC national chairman and senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has criticized the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) over its handling of issues surrounding the Dangote Refinery. He accused the union of escalating matters rather than seeking dialogue to resolve disputes.

Oshiomhole stressed that the refinery is a critical national asset and should not be subjected to unnecessary conflicts that could threaten its operations. He urged PENGASSAN to embrace constructive engagement, warning that constant confrontation could scare off investors and hinder Nigeria’s industrial growth.

The lawmaker also reminded union leaders of their responsibility to protect jobs, not create instability. He called for balance between workers’ rights and national interests, emphasizing that the success of the refinery is tied to Nigeria’s economic recovery.
