The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has hinted at calling off its ongoing strike following a resolution with the Dangote Group. The strike, which disrupted oil and gas operations, was triggered by the sacking of some workers at the Dangote Refinery.
According to reports, Dangote Industries has now agreed to redeploy the affected staff to other units within the company, rather than terminate their employment. This move was part of a broader understanding reached during negotiations with union leaders.
With this development, PENGASSAN is expected to suspend its industrial action, bringing relief to the oil sector and Nigerians worried about possible fuel shortages. The reconciliation is seen as a positive step toward maintaining industrial peace and sustaining refinery operations.
