Lagos Government Reacts To Peter Obi’s Visit To Trade Fair Complex

The Lagos State Government has responded to the recent visit of Labour Party leader, Peter Obi, to the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex. The state noted that while every Nigerian has the right to visit public facilities, such engagements should not be politicised or misrepresented. Officials stressed that the government remains committed to revamping the trade fair and boosting commerce in the state.

According to a statement, the complex is already undergoing phased redevelopment aimed at improving infrastructure, attracting investors, and making it more competitive as a commercial hub. The government maintained that its focus is on ensuring traders, business owners, and consumers benefit from a modern and efficient marketplace that reflects Lagos’ status as Nigeria’s economic capital.

The government further urged political leaders to support ongoing reforms instead of using visits to score political points. It assured traders and the business community that the administration is working with stakeholders to ensure the trade fair becomes a world-class facility for trade and investment.
