Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has announced plans to construct a new airport alongside an export/import processing zone in the state. According to him, the project will boost trade, attract investment, and open new opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs in Benue.
Governor Alia explained that the airport will ease movement of goods and people, while the export/import processing zone will provide a structured platform for agricultural produce and manufactured goods to reach wider markets, both locally and internationally.
The state government believes the initiative will not only create jobs but also position Benue as a hub for agribusiness and commerce in Nigeria. Stakeholders say the plan marks a bold step in diversifying the economy and strengthening the state’s development agenda.
