Nigeria’s Problem Did Not Start With Tinubu’s Government – Akume

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has stated that Nigeria’s current challenges are not new and did not begin with President Bola Tinubu’s administration. According to him, the country has been dealing with deep-rooted economic and social issues for decades, and blaming the present government alone would be unfair. He stressed that the Tinubu-led administration is working tirelessly to fix these inherited problems.

Akume explained that the reforms being carried out by the government are tough but necessary to put the nation back on track. He said the removal of fuel subsidy, exchange rate unification, and other policies are part of efforts to rebuild the economy and create long-term stability. He assured Nigerians that though the journey is difficult, the government remains committed to improving living conditions and building a stronger foundation for growth.

He further appealed to citizens to show patience and support, noting that every great nation has faced challenges before rising to prosperity. Akume expressed confidence that with consistent reforms, Nigeria will overcome its current economic struggles and emerge stronger in the years ahead.
