FG Denies Claims Of Systematic Genocide Against Christians

The Federal Government has dismissed recent allegations suggesting a systematic genocide against Christians in Nigeria. According to the government, such claims are misleading, untrue, and capable of causing unnecessary religious tension in the country. Officials stressed that insecurity challenges affect all Nigerians, regardless of their faith or ethnic background.

The government further explained that security agencies are actively working to curb banditry, terrorism, and other forms of violence across different regions. It noted that the issues fueling insecurity are more complex than religion, pointing instead to criminal activities, economic hardship, and communal clashes as key drivers of violence.

While reassuring citizens of its commitment to protecting all Nigerians, the government urged religious leaders and organizations to avoid spreading divisive narratives. Authorities emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in order to restore peace, stability, and trust among the people.
