President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has compared the hardship many Nigerians are experiencing to a painful surgery that will eventually lead to healing. Speaking during the coronation of Senator Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Tinubu assured citizens that the economic difficulties brought by his reforms are temporary and will produce lasting benefits.
The President explained that his administration’s tough policies, especially in the areas of fuel subsidy removal and monetary reforms, are necessary to fix the economy. He likened the situation to a patient enduring pain during surgery, with the hope of becoming stronger and healthier after recovery. Tinubu called for patience and unity, stressing that Nigerians must endure short-term sacrifices for long-term prosperity.
He further promised that his government would continue to provide support for vulnerable households while pursuing policies that will create jobs, stabilize the economy, and improve living conditions. Tinubu maintained that with collective effort and endurance, the nation will emerge stronger and more prosperous.
