Ladoja Urges Tinubu To Approve Creation Of Ibadan State At Coronation

At his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Rashidi Ladoja used the historic moment to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve the creation of Ibadan State. He noted that Ibadan has long played a significant role in Nigeria’s political and cultural history and deserves recognition as a state of its own.

The new Olubadan explained that Ibadan has the population, resources, and administrative capacity to function as a state. He argued that granting the request would not only honor the people of Ibadanland but also strengthen unity and development in the South-West region.

Ladoja’s appeal has already stirred public discussions, with many indigenes of Ibadan backing the demand while urging the federal government to take it seriously. The creation of Ibadan State has been a long-standing request by leaders and residents, and this latest call puts it once again in the national spotlight.
