Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has pleaded not guilty to charges filed against her as her trial is set to begin in Abuja.

The senator, who represents Kogi Central, appeared before the Federal High Court on Monday where the charges were formally read to her. She firmly denied any wrongdoing and entered a plea of “not guilty.”

The court proceedings attracted attention from political supporters, civil society groups, and journalists, as Natasha has remained a strong voice in national politics. Her lawyers argued that the case is politically motivated and vowed to prove her innocence during the trial.
