Brazilian forward Neymar has criticized the Ballon d’Or organizers after Barcelona star Raphinha finished fifth in the 2025 rankings.

The Santos striker, 33, did not hide his anger about the results, describing Raphinha’s position as “a big joke.”

Recall that Ousmane Dembele won the 2025 Ballon d’Or on Monday night, beating young sensation Lamine Yamal to the top prize.

Meanwhile, Raphinha ended up in fifth place, behind Dembele, Yamal, Vitinha, and Mohamed Salah.

Neymar was clearly not pleased with this outcome. He took to Instagram to express his disappointment, saying his fellow Brazilian deserved much better.

“Raphinha in 5th is too much of a joke,” Neymar wrote.

Last season, Raphinha played a key role in Barcelona’s success. He helped the club win both LaLiga and the Copa del Rey. The former Leeds United winger recorded an impressive 56 goal contributions in just 57 matches, making him one of Barca’s standout players.
