Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has finally returned to Port Harcourt, the state capital, after his reinstatement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fubara touched down at the Port Harcourt International Airport around 11:50 a.m. on Friday, where a large crowd of loyal supporters had gathered at the VIP wing to welcome him.
His arrival comes more than 24 hours after President Tinubu officially lifted the six-month state of emergency imposed on Rivers State. While the House of Assembly resumed sitting on Thursday, the governor had not immediately moved into the Government House despite the anticipation of supporters.
The atmosphere in Port Harcourt was charged with excitement, as many residents saw Fubara’s return as a fresh start for political stability in the state.
