Jose Mourinho is making a sensational return to Benfica, 25 years after his first spell in charge of the Portuguese giants.

According to Sky Sports, the 62-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Lisbon club, marking a full-circle moment in his managerial career. Mourinho, who was recently sacked by Fenerbahce following their Champions League exit, arrived in Portugal from Barcelona on Wednesday night, where excited fans welcomed him by draping a Benfica scarf around his neck.

Speaking to reporters, Mourinho admitted that the chance to coach Benfica was too good to turn down. “When I was faced with the possibility of coaching Benfica, I didn’t think twice. I’m interested, I’d like it,” he said.
