The Lagos State Police have cleared Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, of any wrongdoing after a video went viral showing him apparently holding a firearm.

In a statement on Wednesday, police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said that Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily came to the Ikeja headquarters for questioning about the incident.

Investigations by the police confirmed that the item in the video was not a gun but a stun gun.

“Following a detailed inquiry, which included questioning and a caution statement from Pastor Adefarasin, it was confirmed that the object was a stun gun, not a firearm or lethal weapon. As a result, there is no basis to pursue the case, and it has been closed,” the statement said.

The police also emphasized their commitment to transparency, the rule of law, and public safety.
