Osun-based monarch kicks against man parading himself as Obi of Lagos

An Osun monarch, Oba Olukosi of Ilukosi-Ijesa, has expressed disapproval over a man claiming to be the Obi of Lagos.

The monarch shared a copy of an invitation announcing the launch of a prototype palace for the Obi of Lagos and the first Ofala Festival in Amuwo Odofin.

The invitation named Engr Chibuke Azubuike as the Obi of Lagos state, a title the monarch strongly disagreed with.

Oba Olukosi said he has instructed his team to file a formal complaint against Azubuike and plans to discuss the matter at the upcoming Traditional Rulers Council meeting.

He added, “This provocation against our people will not go unanswered,” showing the seriousness of the matter.

In response, Azubuike clarified that he is not claiming to be the Obi of Lagos but rather the Obi of Ndigbo in Lagos state.
