Decomposing body found in US singer D4vd’s impounded Tesla after passers-by noticed smell

A decomposed body was discovered in a Tesla registered to platinum-selling singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, after the car was impounded at a Los Angeles tow yard. The singer is cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.

The discovery came after passers-by noticed a strong, foul smell coming from the vehicle, prompting police to check it. Officials confirmed that the Tesla, with Texas license plates, is registered to Burke, and a source said he is fully aware of and coordinating with the investigation.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the victim was a woman with wavy black hair and was found in a severely decomposed state. She had a tattoo on her right index finger that read, “Shhh.”

She was wearing a tube top and black leggings, along with yellow metal stud earrings and a yellow metal chain bracelet. Due to the advanced decomposition, her age and ethnicity could not be determined.

Burke, who is currently on tour, performed in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday, September 7, and continued with a show in Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 9, even after the body was discovered in his Tesla.

The Los Angeles Police Department stated that officers were called on September 8 to investigate a “foul odor coming from a vehicle” at a Hollywood tow yard, where they found possible human remains. Police confirmed the case is now an active death investigation.

Sources revealed that the car had been abandoned for at least five days and was towed from the upscale Bird Streets neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills.

Reports indicate that the remains consisted of a head and torso inside a bag. The state of decomposition made it difficult for investigators to determine the victim’s gender.

Following the incident, fashion brands Crocs and Hollister paused a campaign featuring D4vd. The companies released a joint statement saying they had removed content featuring the singer while the investigation is ongoing.
