FG Targets Over 400K Youths With Accessible Loans As CREDICORP Launches YouthCred In Lagos

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) has rolled out the YouthCred program at the NYSC camp in Ipaja, Lagos, after an earlier launch in Abuja.

The initiative is part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, aimed at improving access to consumer credit for Nigerians.

YouthCred, carrying the slogan “Real Financial Knowledge, Real Credit”, will give more than 400,000 young Nigerians, including corps members, the chance to access affordable and flexible loans.

Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, explained that the scheme will empower youths to turn their ideas and inventions into reality.

CREDICORP’s Managing Director, Uzoma Nwagba, described the program as a revolution that will help establish a strong credit culture in Nigeria.

Lagos State Commissioner, Mobolaji Ogunlende, also praised the launch, saying it fits perfectly with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s mission to empower young people across the state.

Apart from loans, YouthCred will also teach young Nigerians about responsible borrowing and financial skills, preparing them to manage money wisely and build a better future.
