The Kogi State Police have arrested the girlfriend of a suspected armed robber and recovered a locally made gun, live bullets, cash, and illegal drugs.

The police spokesperson, SP Williams Ovye-Aya, confirmed the arrest in Lokoja on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

The 23-year-old woman, identified as Charity Williams, was caught in a hotel in the Okene Local Government Area by officers from the Okene Police Division.

The arrest followed a tip-off that a suspected criminal had been spotted at Yuwander Lodge, which locals believe is used as a hideout by criminals in Oguda village, Okene.

“Police quickly moved in and raided the lodge. Charity Williams was arrested in a room booked by a man named Christopher Christopher-Kadiri,” the police spokesperson said.

During the raid, officers recovered a locally made Berretta pistol, N2,047,300 in cash, six 9mm live bullets, hard drugs, an axe, and four mobile phones.

Police are still searching for Christopher-Kadiri, who remains on the run, as the investigation continues.
