The police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said in a statement that the child, identified as Dahiru Iliya, was discovered on September 2, 2025, by the Divisional Police Officer of Numan Division.

The boy explained that he is from Jinkai Village in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State. He also said he was taken from Gombe and later abandoned in Gwalam, Numan.

The police appealed to the public to provide any useful information that can help trace the boy’s parents and reunite him with his family.

Nguroje further asked the parents or anyone who knows them to visit the police headquarters in Yola or contact the Divisional Police Officer of Numan through 07067730606.
