CSP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, has expressed concern over the increasing rate at which men take second wives at the slightest misunderstanding with their partners.
In a post shared on X, Adeh compared the attitude to men rushing for the latest iPhone, suggesting that second marriages are now being treated as upgrades rather than serious commitments.
She noted that many couples no longer take the time to resolve issues but instead move on quickly, leaving behind the values of patience, tolerance, and compromise in marriage. Adeh stressed that this mindset could have damaging effects on children who suffer when families break apart.
The police spokesperson called on couples to rethink their approach, urging them to work through challenges instead of treating marriage as something easily replaced when problems arise.
